No Where to Hide

What journey are you willing to take for the truth? Or will you keep The Lies within, which is the title of the Korean thriller drama series on Netflix that I  just finished watching. I feel that is it is time for me to tell you what I got out of it.

We all know that we have our secrets to keep in tack, but can you live with it knowing that it affects others? Are we willing to lose our life to stop it all? This show has touched me deep in my core, I wish I could tell you everything, but I want you to watch it.

It starts with a tragedy that seemed straight forward, but of course, with lies, there are so many complications.  You are on the run with what you have continued to tell yourself that it no longer moves you. The greed of power, no matter how you get it, takes over and leaves you nothing. Each character was like an element of what makes us human beings.

There are the ones that not only want to obtain power and keep it beyond any measures. Then you have the ones that have a moral conscience and make an effort to do things right, knowing that it will come with a cost to either their reputation or their life. Also, you have the one that has a moral high ground, but because of fear, you give in to the pressure. This, to me, shows the stages of the human capacity to choose between what is right and wrong. You could go in with the characters and feel every emotion that they do. In everything in life, there is corruption, but there are also the virtues of loyalty and friendship; it asks you the question of how far you will go for a friend?

God loves us so much that He died to save us to make what we did wrong and make it right. How many of us love to that extreme? There are so many times in my own life where I give in to the pressure of fear, and sometimes there is no way out without paying the consequences for what I have done. No, matter which character you fall into, there is nowhere to hide.

This series reminds us of how erroneous we genuinely are and that it is time for us to understand that all of these things will only destroy us; it will leave us with nothing.
